Why it matters
Previously, finding a part meant using third-party resources and manually transferring the data into a work order. Now, the whole process takes just one click – right in the order, on the Services and products tab.
This is especially useful when you need to quickly find parts for a specific vehicle and add the item to a work order right away. You can adjust the price, quantity, and cost price later.
How it works
You can now look up a part by VIN, license plate, vehicle name, or part code – and add it to a work order right away.
Next to the usual Labor, service, or product button, there's now a Parts lookup button. Click it, and a separate search window with its own search field opens, where you can search:
by part name or code;
by VIN or vehicle license plate.
If you don't see the button, check whether the integration is enabled (see the Integration settings section below).
If a VIN or license plate is already specified in the work order's vehicle, RO App will use this data for the search automatically.
Depending on the result:
if the vehicle is identified with certainty, a catalog of parts by category and subcategory opens right away;
if it's not immediately clear and there are several possible vehicle modifications, you'll need to select the right one. Filters by fuel type, power, and other parameters can help.
Select the part you need, and a dialog for creating a product opens. The name and part number will already be filled in automatically, and you can edit the rest of the fields manually if needed.
The part is added to the work order right away as a one-time product – there's no need to create it in the Catalog beforehand. This is convenient, since the selected part might turn out to be wrong, or the customer might decline it. If the product is needed later, you can save it to the catalog afterward, without entering the data again.
Each part also has two additional actions available:
Copy part number – copies the part's code to the clipboard;
Open via Avto.pro – opens the part's page on Avto.pro, where you can review available offers and purchase options.
For more details on searching and adding parts, see the step-by-step guide to looking up parts via Avto.pro.
Please note: only users with permission to add one-time products outside the Catalog can add found parts to a work order.
Integration settings
The integration is enabled by default and doesn't affect the existing product search in the Catalog: both methods work in parallel.
You can manage the integration in Settings → Integrations → Lookup → Parts lookup.
This is just the first step – we're planning to expand parts search and ordering capabilities within the product further.
