PayPal POS (Zettle) enables businesses to accept in-person payments through a dedicated card reader terminal, offering a fast and reliable alternative to manual payment processing. It's well suited for retail stores, cafes and restaurants, salons, pop-up shops, and other businesses handling face-to-face transactions. This article walks you through connecting your PayPal POS (Zettle) account to RO App, from creating your API key to pairing your reader and saving your integration settings.
If you encounter any issues during setup, please contact our support team for assistance.
Step 1. Create API Key.
1. Log into your PayPal POS (Zettle) account and go to my.zettle.com.
2. In the left panel, click Integrations.
3. In the Integration tools section, click API Keys.
4. Click Create API Key.
5. Name your key, keep it short and descriptive. A good practice is to use the integration name as the key name.
6. Select all the OAuth permission scopes.
7. Click Create key. A client ID will be created together with the API key.
8. Confirm your password.
9. On the Create API key page, click Copy key. Save the API key and client ID somewhere safe.
Step 2. Connect to RO App.
1. On the Settings > Integrations page, select Paypal POS (Zettle) and click on the integration card to go to its settings.
2. Click the Integration is enabled checkbox.
3. Add a merchant:
Click the “+ Merchant” button.
In the window for adding a merchant, check the “Active” box.
Select the locations for which the merchant you are creating will be used.
In the “Account” field, select one of the cashless accounts in RO App. It is to this account that payments will be credited after successful payment from the client. You can create an account on the Finance > Transactions page.
Fill in:
Merchant name
API Key and Client ID - the ones created in your Zettle account.
Fill in the pairing code.
Save the merchant settings.
How to get a pairing code
Turn on your PayPal Reader and enter 4578. The reader will appear as an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
On your computer, where you’re connecting the integration, open Wi-Fi settings and connect to the PayPal Reader. Enter the password displayed on the reader's screen.
In a web browser on the same device and go to http://192.168.4.1/.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the PayPal Reader to your preferred Wi-Fi network.
Once the reader is connected to Wi-Fi, an 8-digit pairing code will appear on the reader's screen. You'll use this code to pair the reader with your RO App account.
Step 3. Save the settings.
After you have added active merchants and enabled the integration, click on the “Save” button. Done! The integration is enabled.
