Resource Types and Automatic Resource Assignment

You can now group resources into types at the company level. And when a client books a service through the public page, the system automatically assigns an available resource of the right type.

Previously, an identical resource – a Bay, a Room – had to be created separately for each location, and then linked to services separately as well. Now this only needs to be done once – for all the locations you need.

Grouping resources

A resource type is created and edited only at the company level – in Settings → General → Bookings → Resources. At the individual location level, you can only add new resources or edit existing ones – including renaming them.

For each location, you specify the quantity for the given type – the system automatically creates the corresponding resources following the pattern: Bay 1, Bay 2, Bay 3.

Please note: all existing resources are migrated automatically. Resources with the same base name – for example, Bay 1 and Bay 2 – are grouped under a shared type, Bay, and all IDs are preserved, so bookings, orders, and schedules continue to work without any changes.

Multiple resources in one booking

In the Resources field of a booking, you can now select not just one, but several resources of different types at once – useful when a service requires different rooms or equipment at the same time. The list in the field is collapsed by type, so it's easier to navigate. On the calendar, a booking with multiple resources shows a separate tile in the row of each one.

Automatic resource assignment

You can now link a service to the required resource type – for example, specify that an oil change service requires a lift. When a client or a manager books this service, the system automatically assigns an available resource of that type – no more manually searching for and checking availability.

The assignment method is configured at the resource type level, in the Automatic resource assignment field:

  • Even distribution (default) – the system selects the least loaded available resource, ensuring balanced use of all resources;

  • Maximum load – the system selects the most loaded available resource, so that other resources stay available longer.

This is especially useful for online booking: the system automatically assigns an available resource, and if none is available, the booking is unavailable for that time.

Deleting resources and related bookings

Deleting a resource or an entire type no longer deletes related bookings – they're just unlinked from the resource, the same way it already works with orders.
