Previously, notifications to clients went out in a single language: the one your account was created in, or the one you wrote your custom template in. Now you can add language versions to a template and set the client's language in their contact card. The system picks the right version at the moment of sending. A client from Poland will get a reminder in Polish, and a client from Spain will get it in Spanish.
Multiple languages in one template
Language versions are added in Settings → External notifications. When creating or editing a template, click + Language and select a language from the list – a separate tab will appear in the template.
You can delete a tab with a language you no longer need at any time – only the default language tab stays in place. The template list also has a new Additional languages column, where you can see at a glance which languages have been added to each template.
Language versions are available for SMS and email in all templates: for inquiries, bookings, orders, and contacts, including reminders and birthday greetings.
One-click template translation
There are two ways to fill in a new tab: write the text yourself or click Translate – and the system will translate the subject and text from the default language tab. You can edit the translation, and there's no limit on the number of translations.
Language in the contact card
As soon as you fill in the first language version of a template, a Language field will appear in contact cards – at the bottom of the contact details block. This is where you choose which language the client will receive messages in. You can show or hide the field manually in Settings → Forms editor.
From there, the logic is simple: if a language is set and the template has been translated into it, the notification will be sent in that language. If no language is set or there's no translation for it yet, the client will receive the message in the default language.
And when you send an email or SMS manually, you can choose the language right in the sending form – the system will fill in the one set in the contact, but you can always change it.
Default language
The default language is the one your account was created in. You can change it in Settings → General, in the Documents language field.
If your templates already have additional language versions, after the change the default tab will get a new name, but the text in it will stay the same. So it's worth checking your templates right away and rewriting the text in the new language – otherwise clients with no language set will keep receiving messages in the old one.
