We continue expanding the capabilities of Public API v2 in RO App. You can now work with employee work schedules and timesheets via the API to synchronize this data with other systems and avoid entering it manually.
Work schedules and timesheets via API
A new Employee Hours section has been added to the Public API, with endpoints for work schedules and timesheets.
For both work schedules and timesheets, you can now:
retrieve data for a period of up to 92 days;
retrieve data for all employees for a specific date;
retrieve data for a specific employee for a selected date;
create or fully replace an employee's data for a selected date;
delete an employee's data for a selected date.
Please note: you can change work schedules for both past and future days, while timesheets can only be changed for past days and today, as they reflect actual hours worked.
For a working day, you can pass several intervals – for example, if an employee works at one location in the first half of the day and at another in the second half. For a non-working day, you can specify its type: vacation, sick day, or day off, and mark whether it is paid.
Data can be filtered by employees, locations, and day type.
Learn more about work schedule and timesheet endpoints in the Public API documentation.
How the new endpoints help your business
For example, you can use them to:
synchronize work schedules with HR systems and shift planning services;
automatically transfer work schedules and timesheets from external systems to RO App;
send working hours data to payroll and accounting systems;
create custom reports on employee workload across different locations.
Access to endpoints
An API key belongs to a specific RO App employee and has the same access rights as that employee. To retrieve data, the employee needs permission to view employee hours, and to change it – permission to edit the work schedule or timesheets.
