The feature for creating products with variants is useful for businesses that sell the same product in several versions that differ in certain characteristics. Instead of creating each variant manually, you can specify a general product name, select properties and their values, and the system will automatically create a separate product card for each combination.
How to Create a Product with Variants
Open the Catalog section and go to the Products tab.
Click + Product and select “Create a product with variants” from the drop-down list.
Fill in the basic product information
In the product creation form, fill in the main fields:
Name — enter the general name of the product, for example, Phone.
Type — select the appropriate product type from the list.
Category — select the category to which the product will belong, or create a new one using the + Category button.
Unit of measurement — select the product’s unit of measurement if it is not set by default.
Image — add a photo of the product if needed. Supported formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP, up to 25 MB in size.
Variations
In the Variations section, specify the properties by which the products will differ.
Select a attribute from the list, such as Color.
Specify the attribute values to use for creating variants. For example, select All to include all available values, or select only the ones you need.
To add another attribute, click + Add attribute and select the appropriate attribute and its values.
For example, if you select Black and Silver as values for the Color attribute, the system will create a separate product variant for each color.
After selecting the properties, the system will generate a list of product variants.
Check the number of variants that will be created. It is displayed in the information block, for example, 2 variants will be created.
Make sure all the desired options are selected, such as Black and Silver.
If you need to create only some of the suggested variants, leave only the relevant options selected.
Settings
If necessary, enable additional options at the bottom of the form:
Set product dimensions and weight — to specify dimensions and weight.
Warranty to client — to configure warranty terms.
Enable expiration tracking — to track product expiration dates.
Enable serial number tracking — to track products by serial number.
After filling in all required fields, review the entered data and complete the product creation by clicking Create.
After creating a product with variants, the system automatically creates a separate product card for each selected combination of characteristics. The name of each card is generated based on the specified product name and the added characteristics.
For example: when creating a product named “iPhone,” you specified the characteristics “Color: Black” and “Storage Capacity: 128 GB.” A separate product card with the corresponding name and characteristics will be created in the catalog. If multiple combinations of characteristics are specified when creating a product, the system will automatically create a separate card for each of them.
