RO App allows you to quickly inform clients and employees about events related to orders and tasks via SMS. To do this, you can connect the SMSAPI service — an online service for bulk and individual sending of SMS messages. In this guide, you will find a step-by-step description of the process of creating a token and connecting the service to RO App.
Step 1. Register with SMSAPI
1. Go to SMSAPI and create an account.
2. Click Activate account and fill in all the required fields to activate your account and be able to create a Sender Name.
A message confirming successful activation will be sent to your email address. After that, you can proceed to the next steps — creating a token and a sender name.
Step 2. Create token in SMSAPI
In order to connect your SMSAPI account to the RO App, you must first create a token.
1. In your SMSAPI account, go to Settings > API Settings > API tokens (OAuth).
2. Click Generate a token.
3. Fill in the token information:
Enter the token name.
In the Access token expiration date field, leave the Never option selected or set the token expiration date.
Leave all options at the bottom enabled.
4. Click Generate access token.
5. Click Copy to clipboard to copy the token. We will need it when connecting this integration to the RO App.
❗ Be sure to save the token, as it will no longer be displayed in full after this.
Step 3. Create sender name in SMSAPI
Now you need to create a sender name, i.e. the name that your clients will see as the sender of the SMS. To do this:
1. Go to the SMS messages > Senders page.
2. Enter the sender name — this can be your company name, promotion name, etc. — and click Add.
The sender name must contain at least one letter and be up to 11 characters long.
Allowed characters: a-z A-Z 0-9 . & @ - + _ ! % # [space]*.
The system does not accept sender names that contain more than 3 consecutive digits (for example, TEST1234 is incorrect).
3. Click Confirm to confirm the action.
After that, the sender name must be verified by the SMSAPI support team.
Once verification is complete, you can proceed to the next step and connect SMSAPI to the RO App.
Step 4. Connect to RO App
To connect SMSAPI to the RO App:
1. In the RO App, go to Settings > Integrations > SMS, find the SMSAPI integration and click Configure.
2. Check the Integration enabled checkbox and fill in the required fields:
Paste the token you copied earlier from SMSAPI into the API token field.
In the Sender name field, enter the name that will be displayed to users when they receive messages from this channel.
3. Click Save.
Done! Integration is enabled and you can now set up automatic message sending or send them manually 😉
On the “Reports > Marketing > Sent SMS” page, you can see a report on sent SMS.
